Due to the ongoing Corona crisis, the German government has increased the short-time allowance and extended the period for which it is paid until December 31, 2021. This is also good news for affected employees who would like to earn some extra money as extras, because the opportunities for marginal employees to earn extra money have also been extended and expanded.

Without this special regulation, recipients of short-time allowance had to have income from sideline activities offset against the short-time allowance. Until December 31, 2021, it will therefore continue to be possible to earn additional income during short-time work with mini-jobs or short-term employment without having to pay a tax credit.
