Minimum wage continues to rise: 12.82 euros from January 1, 2025
The statutory minimum wage is set to rise to 12.82 euros per hour on January 1, 2025. As the earnings threshold for mini-jobs is based on the statutory minimum wage, this will also be raised on January 1, 2025. From 2025, the earnings threshold for mini-jobs will be 556 euros per month (previously: 538 euros).
Of course, this will also benefit short-term employees such as extras, bit players, light doubles, etc., who previously worked professionally due to their social security status if their monthly gross pay from short-term employment exceeded EUR 538. From January 2025, they will now be able to earn up to EUR 556 per month from short-term employment free of social security contributions.
